born Mervyn Edward Griffin Jr. singer, entertainer, talk show host, impresario, creator of Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune and former owner of WENE and WMRV in Endicott NY, WMID & WGRF Atlantic City NJ, WBAX Wilkes Barre, WPOP Hartford and WIOF "W104-FM Waterbury CT. Griffin and Julann Elizabeth Wright were married in 1958, and a son, Anthony, was born the following year. The couple divorced in 1973 because of ``irreconcilable differences. Julann received the radio stations as part of the divorce settlement. Merv sings I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts.

February 18, 1931 April 7, 2007  Johnny Hart  Born in Endicott, New York, graduated from Union Endicott High School in 1949. American cartoonist and creator of the comic strip B.C. and co-creator of The Wizard of Id. More at Creators.com

August 26, 1920 - April 15, 2007  Brant Parker worked at the Walt Disney Studios on many projects including several 'Donald Duck' shorts. By the late 1940s, Parker a political cartoonist for the Binghamton Press. He met Johnny Hart at an art show, they created 'The Wizard of Id' in 1964. In 1997, Parker handed over the artwork of 'The Wizard' to his son Jeff. Brant Parker passed away from a stroke on April 15, 2007, eight days after the death of his collaborator Johnny Hart.
